“Thank you, Paumanok Veterinary Hospital! On February 10, in the middle of a snow storm, my wife and I rushed our 5½-year-old boxer to Paumanok for an emergency visit because of repeated seizures. A few months earlier, he had a couple of seizures and was placed on anti-seizure medicine. He had been doing fine until this latest episode. Dr. Dave took extra time to thoroughly explain our options as well as the potential side effects of the medicine prescribed, which needed to be bumped up slightly. My wife and I have done much research on this and while many vets have slightly different theories and preferences for treating and controlling seizures, Drs. Dave and Dee Hensen have always gone out of their way to not only do the best by our pets but to thoroughly explain the proper maintenance, treatment, and care. They follow up with phone calls, as well as their staff, and it is for these reasons that we’ve trusted the health and well-being of our pets to Paumanok for the last 15 years. I’m happy to say that our dog has been doing much, much better since his medicine was altered.
