Well Care
(Preventative Medicine)

Preventative health care or well care is tailor designed to each pet's unique circumstances. This includes puppy vaccinations and adult vaccinations, annual health maintenance examinations, parasite exams, preventative internal parasite and external parasite medications, nutrition management, ear and coat management, etc. Our philosophy is to offer the best preventative medicine possible but also prioritize preventative measures. This approach allows us to work within all budgets.

Vaccines we commonly administer to dogs include:

DA2PPV - Distemper Hepatitis Parvo Parainfluenza
Rabies
Lyme vaccine
Bordatella (Kennel Cough)
Leptospirosis

Vaccines we commonly administer to cats include:

FVRCP: Feline distemper and upper respiratory disease
leukemia
Rabies

Dogs are periodically tested for:

internal parasites (intestinal worms, heart worms)
flea, ticks, lice
lyme disease, ehrlichia
hypothyroid
geriatric profile

Cats are periodically tested for

feline leukemia and feline immune deficiency (feline AIDS)
intestinal parasites
hyperthyroid
fleas, ticks, ear mites, lice
geriatric profile

Preventive parasite control for dogs:

Sentinel
Interceptor
Program
Advantage and advantix
Front Line and Front line Plus
Preventic collar

Preventive parasite control for cats:

Revolution
Program (injection)
Advantage
Front line

All pets are unique with different preventative needs. It is impossible to make a blanket recommendation that covers all pets and satisfies everyone's needs. But together we can determine what is best for your pet.
